Building Futures Together
Hills International College is proud to unveil its 2025–2029 Strategic Plan - an ambitious and future-focused roadmap that reaffirms the College’s commitment to nurturing confident, capable, and compassionate young people. Guided by the new College motto Building Futures Together, the plan lays the foundation for the next phase of growth and innovation at Hills.

A Vision for the Future
At the heart of the Strategic Plan is a clear intent: to create a cohesive Prep to Year 12 learning community that prioritises educational quality, international-mindedness, wellbeing, and long-term sustainability. The College’s mission to provide education for globalisation, delivered by passionate, expert educators, is more relevant than ever in today’s rapidly changing world. With a strong emphasis on connectedness and collaboration, the plan is not just about growth; it’s about purposefully shaping the future of education for students, families, and the wider Hills community.

Strategic Pillars of Focus

The plan is structured around four interconnected pillars that define the College’s strategic direction from 2025 to 2029:

1. Education and Wellbeing
At Hills, student success is holistic. This pillar focuses on enhancing academic outcomes while supporting the mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of every learner. Through rigorous curriculum design, innovative teaching practices, and a school-wide wellbeing approach, the College aims to foster resilient, globally minded students who are prepared for life beyond school.

Key initiatives include:

  • Expanding personalised, data-informed teaching
  • Enhancing international learning opportunities
  • Strengthening Prep to Year 12 alignment and continuity
  • Deepening student wellbeing frameworks and programs

2. Property and Facilities
Learning is influenced by the environment in which it happens. Hills is committed to providing modern, sustainable, and engaging facilities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.

Planned investments include:

  • Purpose-built learning environments for future-focused subjects
  • Improved campus access, security, and functionality
  • Partnerships to optimise infrastructure and parking
  • Strategic planning to repurpose and upgrade existing facilities

3. Financial Operations
To ensure the College remains a vibrant and accessible place of learning well into the future, this pillar focuses on sound financial management. Hills is committed to transparent reporting, responsible budgeting, and long-term financial health.

Priorities include:

  • Sustainable funding for growth and capital works
  • Clear financial communications with stakeholders
  • Efficient, well-managed day-to-day operations
  • Strategic investment in resources that enhance student outcomes

4. Risk and Compliance
A safe and well-governed school is essential for effective learning. This pillar ensures the College upholds best-practice governance, risk management, and compliance—especially in the digital age.

Focus areas include:

  • Proactive compliance with state and national regulations
  • Strengthened cyber security and data protection
  • Governance frameworks that support ethical leadership
  • Continuous improvement in risk management procedures

Our Commitment: Building Futures Together
This Strategic Plan reflects the collective voice of Hills College leadership, staff, and the Board. It also affirms the College’s values - Living with Compassion, Acting with Integrity, Working with Diligence, and Striving for Success -as the guiding principles for every decision we make.
