Primary Program

Welcome to the Primary School at Hills College, a truly wonderful place to be and learn!

At Hills College, our students are at the heart of all that we do. Our highly dedicated and caring staff provide an atmosphere that is nurturing to our students’ academic, social and emotional development. Being a small school, we take pride in ‘getting to know the individual’ and to create an environment in which our students feel valued. At Hills, we are of the firm belief that by developing meaningful relationships and creating safe and supportive environments, our students’ full potential can be reached. In this way, we are ensuring our students strive towards our College’s Mission, Live with compassion, Act with integrity, Work with diligence and Strive for success.

We provide a range of high-quality learning opportunities that are inclusive to all. Our classroom teachers deliver the Prep to Year 6 Australian Curriculum through the framework of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).  This transdisciplinary approach assists our students to develop curiosity as well as critical and creative thinking skills, as they explore the world around them through structured inquiry. Our teachers and classrooms are highly resourced and students have access to a range of technologies to aid them in their learning adventures. At Hills, we are also able to offer a broad range of specialist subjects that all students from Prep to Year 6 participate in. These include The Arts, Music, Health and Physical Education and Library. In addition to this, our students are offered a variety of co-curricular opportunities.

Our Primary School is a friendly, respectful and welcoming environment where we foster a great sense of community. The teaching staff work closely with our College families and are highly proactive in dealing with and supporting student wellness or learning concerns. Classroom teachers have an open-door policy and they are always happy to discuss your child’s progress.

We would love to welcome you to Hills College: a truly wonderful place.
