CONGRATULATIONS AMELIA!

Year 5 student Amelia Townsend recently competed in a Gymnastics Queensland Junior State Championship qualifying round at Warwick on 18 July.  

Amelia currently competes in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Level 4 for Jimboomba Gymnastics Club, and trains for over 10 hours a week after starting at this level at the beginning of the year.

To qualify for the 2021 Gymnastics Queensland Junior State Championships, competitors must achieve a total of 34 points out of a possible 40 across the four apparatus of Bars, Vault and Floor and Beam, which is Amelia’s strongest apparatus.

Supported by great coaches and a positive team, Amelia met the benchmark at the competition in Warwick which progresses her to the 2021 Gymnastics Queensland Junior State Championships held on the Gold Coast in September 2021.
