Hills International College is an accredited testing centre for the Japanese STEP (Society for Testing English Proficiency) test as well as for the United States SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test).
SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) – Hills International College School Code 700819
Reasons for taking the SAT
This test is for students who are interested in studying in America. Many of our golf students would like to further their golf careers and academic pursuits in the United States. Indeed several of our past students are already studying there on full scholarships as a result of their golfing proficiency and results obtained in taking the SAT. Our non-golfing Chinese students have also expressed an interest in the SAT as a means to try to gain entry to US colleges. Any students (golfers or non-golfers – Australian or International) who wish to try for a scholarship in American colleges should take this test and also attend the preparation classes mentioned below.
What is the SAT?
The SAT is a 3 hour and 45 minute test that measures critical thinking, mathematical reasoning and writing skills that students need to do college level work. More information, including planning, searching and applying for colleges; financial aid; and practice questions is available at the CollegeBoard website www.collegeboard.orgTypically Year 11 (end of school year) and Year 12 (beginning of school year) take the SAT.
In order to take the SAT exam, students must first create a free account on collegeboard.org with their name and a password. Once the account is created students can register to take the exam. Students will be asked for the school code (700819) and will need to choose a test centre location (Hills International College test centre number is 87-238). The exam fee is paid by credit card at the time of registration. Once a student has created this free account, CollegeBoard will send updated information, reminders for registration dates, etc. to the student’s email.
